Description
Calie is a nightgown with balanced proportions, knee-length, long sleeves buttoned at the wrist, a rounded Peter Pan collar fastened with small mother-of-pearl buttons at the bodice. The bottom finishes with a tuxedo hem.
One size fits all, loose fit, the silhouette follows the drape of the cotton, light and unrestricted.
The cotton voile is block-printed in Rajasthan, each motif hand-carved into a wooden block, each imprint applied individually to the fabric. The designs draw from the Mughal ornamental repertoire. The material, initially slightly dry and textured, softens with each wash, gaining in suppleness as it gains in intimacy. Made in family workshops in India, where artisanal know-how is passed down from generation to generation, Calie bears in its very fabric the imprint of a continuous process—carving, inking, pressing, sewing.

Designed in Paris, our cottons are woven, printed, and embroidered by hand between the south of the Indian peninsula and Rajasthan.
They were conceived and designed with love and respect for the gestures, the families who produce them, and ancestral traditions. A love story between croissant and paratha, pot-au-feu and butter chicken, Paris and New Delhi.
