Description
Calie is a nightgown with balanced proportions, knee-length, long sleeves buttoned at the wrist, and a rounded Peter Pan collar closed with small mother-of-pearl buttons on the upper body. The bottom features a shirt-tail hem.
One size fits all, loose fit; the silhouette follows the drape of the cotton, light and unrestrictive.
The cotton voile is block-printed in Rajasthan, with each pattern hand-carved into a wooden block, and each impression applied one by one to the fabric. The designs draw from the Mughal ornamental repertoire. The material, initially slightly dry and textured, softens with each wash, gaining suppleness as it gains intimacy. Made in family workshops in India, where artisanal know-how is passed down from generation to generation, Calie carries in its weave the imprint of a continuous process — carving, inking, pressing, sewing.

They were conceived and designed with love and respect for the gestures, the families who produce them, and ancestral traditions. A love story between croissant and paratha, pot-au-feu and butter chicken, Paris and New Delhi.
