Description
Calie is a nightgown with balanced proportions, knee-length, long sleeves buttoned at the wrist, and a rounded Peter Pan collar closed with small mother-of-pearl buttons on the upper body. The bottom finishes in a shirt-tail hem.
One size, loose fit, the silhouette follows the drape of the cotton, light and unconstricting.
On the cotton, small hearts are hand-embroidered with red thread, randomly distributed, each placed with the slowness of an artisanal gesture. The detail is discovered rather than displayed, intimate and almost secret. The cotton is woven on mechanized artisanal looms in India, the threads carefully selected to preserve the fabric's irregular grain and lively texture. No two pieces are exactly alike; it is the hand that decides, not repetition.
