Description
Dona is a generous nightgown; calf length, loose fit, short ruffled sleeves, and a collar handcrafted using the smock technique. The fabric is embroidered on gathers with contrasting thread, forming small, regular pleats that give the bust its aesthetic appeal. The piece slips on from the top, with no buttons or fastenings. One size. The silhouette is loose, free, and functional.
The armholes are finished with a cross-stitch blanket stitch, hand-embroidered, a meticulous and artisanal finish. The cotton is woven on mechanized artisanal looms in India, with threads carefully selected to give the fabric a natural irregularity.
